The above photo is a composite of 12 photos taken 15 minutes apart. The dark part at the bottom right of the Sun is a passing cloud in one of the frames.
For me, my wife and my sons, this is truely a once in a lifetime event, that only my Grandchildren might see in their old age.
The last Transit of Venus happened in December of 1882.
The next Transit of Venus will happen in December of 2117.
